Who sets moving rates in New York
Every mover in New York State files a tariff with the Department of Transportation, an organized schedule of the rates and charges for its services, and may only charge what the tariff shows. Changes take effect on 30 days statutory notice, and each vehicle carries an intrastate identification receipt.
